App causes glitches and errors!

My phone has been having glitches, getting increasingly slower and even malfunctioning. I took it to the Apple store and I was specifically told that Family Tracker does not stop running in the background even if you close it and it appears to not be running in the background. This causes a pile up affect in the phones memory and will mess your phone up! I had to reset my phone back to scratch just to fix this issue!! Im very upset.
